Twitter for Journalists

Some community-driven thoughts about how journalists should embrace social media and “come out from behind their byline” by joining the online communities they seek to represent. I couldn’t agree more with this. I got out of journalism in school because I didn’t like the idea of being masked or unduly influenced by a newspaper identity, or worse a gigantic corporate identity behind the newspaper. Journalists shouldn’t be scared of the new wave of citizen journalism, but embrace its power to expand perspective and dig to deeper truths. Yes, social media generates a lot of noise, but there is still worth there if you know where to look.
